A simple backlinking strategy that increases blog traffic 

On Wednesday 4th November I got up early and wrote a post titled FIVE Awesome Steps To Backlinking For Bloggers On A Shoestring Budget.  I then implemented each step in the sequence in which they were recommended and checked blog visits on November 5th. 

 

Results of the backlinking strategy

Google Analytics stats shows a traffic surge or sharp increase in blog visits on 4th November, showing that the strategy was indeed successful.

 

Points of interest regarding blog traffic

a. Visitor engagement depends on interesting content

For example, an  October 31st  traffic surge was noted on From Breakup To Makeup  followed the post  "Still Single At 40? Don't Worry! Your Boyfriend Ain't Born Yet!"

Blog visits surged after the post Still Single At 40? Don't worry, your boyfriend ain't born yet!

  

 

In a second example, there was also another minor increase in blog visits on October 31st after I wrote a post titled Uncommon Disease Cures Is In Honor Of My Father Who Died From Cancer.

People found this human factor interesting 

because hits increased

Blog visits surged after  I wrote a post in honor of the memory of  my father Oscar Alphaeus Moss

 b. Monitor stats to see which posts generate interest and write more in those categories

c. Monitor traffic patterns on the site

You need to analyze source of the visits, what they are searching for etc as in the following example:

Data at Prayer and Praise Power Ministries  shows the following:   

        1. A steady, consistent rise in traffic from 2007 - this is truly  organic in nature

       2. Search engine referers by rank are Google, Yahoo and Bing (thanks all) 

     3. Google consistently refers over 80% of the traffic. Thanks Google. 

     4. Visits are predominantly from the USA. Americans love knowledge. 

    5. Keys for rebuking the devil and his angels is usually top in search 

   6. Traffic increases on two particular days of the week 

Finally, great content is still King of traffic

I need you to know that no one is going to visit a blog that is poorly constructed and that has poor and/or limited content. Well, even if they do, they will never return. That holds true even if the blog is indexed in the search engines, ranked with software and even on the first page of Google. 

Great content is still king of Traffic. While my case study findings are limited to a few blogs, most internet marketers agree that content is still king of the internet.

I know that some of you are wondering about my authority to speak about traffic when my stats are so low. The truth is that I was focused on other issues, mainly indexing and networking the sites. That project was very successful to say the least, and all of the blogs are on the first page of search for their keywords. That is another post.

I'm about to embark on a traffic generation system for  Mercedes Coleen Moss' Blog Network. I could tell you about a lot of the strategies, but I hate manual labor online and love automation. I do have some software and will be working next on an integrated approach to traffic generation. I've found some new diamonds thanks to my friend at Freeseotools.me.
